Celebrating our 20th
Year

This year we
are honoring the men behind this great day.
We would like to thank Mike and Bill for
20 great years of fun and prizes. The amount of work and planning
involved seems like a never ending job. Getting up at 2am to get
to the course and set up takes a lot of dedication for twenty
years. There is lot of team work and everyone seems to want to
help at cleanup time. It is a day that the
golfers are talking about next year already.
This outing started 19 years ago with only 8 men and
has grown to 100 players with many
more
being turned away. Each year Bill starts preparing the menu about
two months a head of time. This year we had a half of chicken
along with fresh corn on the cob dipped in melted butter for
dinner. For lunch there is always beef stick and delicious
kielbasa or dogs smothered in sauerkraut. Breakfast had muffins
the size of small pumpkins and all kinds of breakfast treats and
fruits.
P. Chase,
this years winner, is a new comer to the Kielbasa Open. His son
has been a winner in the past and now its Dads turn. Shooting a
remarkable 76 on a course that had
professional pin
placements. There were holes that a player would end up off the
green after their first putt! The greens had to measure a 10 on a
stint meter and thanks to Bill, (
the Chef as we
all call him ) the pin placements
were unbelievable. Congratulations Mr. Chase.
WITH THE MODEST ENTRY
FEE AND HUNDREDS OF PRIZES, THIS DAY IS EVERY GOLFERS DREAM.
